Description:
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a ubiquitous disease that has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. As diabetes continues to grow more prevalent, ocular concerns associated with diabetes such as diabetic macular edema (DME) are on the rise, as well. Breakthroughs in understanding the pathogenesis of DME have led to the development of various agents for treatments such as VEGF inhibitors and corticosteroids. Numerous clinical trials have been conducted and are underway to evaluate these agents and determine optimal treatment strategies for patients with DME.

This educational program will explore these agents and highlight the pathologic underpinnings of DME to enable clinicians to stay abreast of the latest developments in this field. During this live activity, delivered via WebEx, participants will be able to submit questions to the faculty through private chat. Questions will be addressed during the Q&A session at the end of the presentation. Participants will also be able to download the slide deck and a supportive clinical tool.
