Description:
The Medicare Access and Chip Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) is federal legislation enacted by the United State Congress and signed into law by President Obama on April 16, 2015, intended to contain healthcare costs and to focus Medicare spending on the quality of services beneficiaries receive rather than the quantity of those services. MACRA repeals previous Medicare physician payment formulas, modifies and combines quality and information technology programs, and reauthorizes the 1997 State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

At the conclusion of the activity, attendees will be able to:
• Compare how Medicare reimburses physicians before and after MACRA
• Discuss how Medicare intends to emphasize quality and cost in physician reimbursement through MACRA
• Identify strategies to maximize physician reimbursement under MACRA
