Description:
Early recognition and management of premalignant gastrointestinal conditions are key in the prevention and early detection of cancer. As we understand more of the pathogenesis of these disorders, treatment algorithms continue to change. Emerging endoscopic techniques also play an important role in diagnosis and surveillance.

This one day course will focus on the approach to managing gastrointestinal premalignant disorders. It will update the participant on the diagnosis, management and surveillance of various premalignant conditions involving the luminal GI tract, liver and pancreas. Topics will include medical, endoscopic and surgical management of Barrett?s esophagus, gastric intestinal metaplasia, gastric carcinoids, hereditary gastric cancer, endoscopic imaging and resection techniques in the stomach, surgical management of hereditary gastric cancer, surveillance for hepatocellular carcinoma, pancreas cyst lesions, surveillance of individuals at high-risk for pancreas cancer, Lynch syndrome, early age onset colon cancer, serrated colon polyps, inflammatory bowel disease and endoscopic management of large colon polyps. The course will utilize didactic lectures as well as interactive clinical case presentations.
