Description:
Continuing Education Company (CEC) has been organizing its Primary Care CME Conference Series for the past 26 years. These conferences are designed to update primary care clinicians in rapidly changing therapeutic areas. The emphasis is on practical and useful information for clinical practice. As part of this series, the inaugural Gastroenterology and Hepatology Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel on January 24-26, 2020. This conference, which has been accredited for up to 15 CME credits, is being organized as a joint effort between CEC and the Northwestern Medicine Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Gastrointestinal disorders are common in the general population. In the current health care arena, the primary care physician has increasingly assumed the role of primary care giver for patients with many of the most common gastrointestinal ailments. Consequently, it has become clinically important and economically prudent for primary care physicians to become familiar with the management of these disorders and perhaps most importantly when to consult a gastroenterologist. This program will address these evolving needs, providing the primary care provider with effective evidence-based diagnostic, therapeutic, and referral strategies for common gastrointestinal and liver related disorders.

As a result of this conference, participants will be able to:
Access and provide patients with an accurate diagnosis and optimal care for a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders seen in primary care.
Integrate evidence-based strategies and recent guidelines for screening, prevention, and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders and their comorbidities in clinical practice.
Formulate comprehensive evidence-based interventions and treatment strategies for gastrointestinal disorders that will lead to the reduction of modifiable risk factors and improved long-term outcomes.

This conference is designed for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other related healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients at risk for gastrointestinal disorders.
