Description:
This course reviews the spectrum of advanced cardiovascular imaging including echocardiography, MRI, CT and nuclear cardiology for the practicing cardiologist or radiologist wishing to obtain state of the art knowledge on updated techniques and practices. In addition to interactive didactic sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to hone their skills with hands-on sessions and small-group workshops. A comprehensive didactic and hands-on, 4-day symposium will focus on point of care ultrasound (POCUS) and echocardiographic skills for advanced practice providers, critical care or emergency medicine providers and medical trainees.

There are two potential learning tracks available:
Track A features a four-day interactive and didactic forum for learning about various cardiovascular imaging modalities with breakout focus sessions. Each day will reflect a different theme such as structural heart disease, ischemic heart disease, heart failure and cardiomyopathies, as well as congenital heart disease. Lectures will be case-based and explore the relative science of each topic. Intermittently, multiple speakers will integrate their talks so the learner can be engaged from different viewpoints including cardiology, radiology and surgery. The forum incorporates innovative technologies to bring the learner to the procedures with taped, moderated broadcasts of TAVR, MitraClip, and Watchman procedures. Learn directly from the experts in a personal, interactive format that is geared to provide a fresh, innovative, and exciting forum for education.

Track B focuses on hands-on echocardiographic imaging for the physician, advanced practice provider, or trainee hoping to obtain a fundamental understanding of echocardiography and implement these principles at the bedside. Following a rapid didactic discussion, participants will have the opportunity to hone their skills in a small-group setting on volunteer patients and simulation equipment. Given the need to adhere to small-group, Track B is limited to 50 enrollments.
